Fireproofing Thickness Testing
Spray-Applied Fire Resistant Material (SFRM) thickness testing ensures your structural elements are properly protected. Testing is conducted in general conformance with ASTM E605 standard and AWCI Technical Manual 12-A.
Fireproofing Density Testing
SFRM samples are taken on-site and tested in the lab to ensure fire- proofing is sprayed to the proper density. Fireproofing density testing is conducted in general conformance with ASTM E605 standard and AWCI Technical Manual 12-A.
Fireproofing Adhesion/Cohesion Testing
Also known as a "pull or bond test", adhesion/cohesion testing ensures the applied fireproofing (SFRM) is properly adhering to the structural elements. Adhesion/cohesion testing is in general conformance with ASTM E736 and AWCI Technical Manual 12-A.
Intumescent Coating Thickness Testing
Thickness testing of intumescent paint / coatings ensures the structural elements of your building are protected in the event of a fire. Intumescent coating testing is conducted in general conformance with AWCI Technical Manual 12-B.
Firestop Reviews
All penetrations and joints in a fire separation are required to be sealed utilizing a cUL/ULC approved firestop design. A third party firestop review ensures all firestop installations in your building are compliant and provide the proper protection. Firestop reviews are conducted in general conformance with ASTM E2174 & E2393
Firestop Engineering Judgment Review
Firez is capable of providing third party review of manufacturer firestop engineering judgments (EJs) to ensure the EJs are compliant with the local building code and meet the needs of your building. Alberta refers to EJs as "firestop technical judgments (TJs)". BC refers to EJs as "firestop custom designs".
